Just wanted to touch on something a bit more that I found to be very important in the topic of parenting. Research shows that first-born children get about 3,000 more hours of quality time with parents between the ages of 4 and 13 than the next sibling. Because of this, older children tend to have better outcomes, more education, make more money and have a higher IQ score. As a family ages, the amount ofttimes that parents spend with their children will decline. These days watching tv counts as quality time. At the end of all of this, parents should be more aware of the patterns and to equalize the outcomes for their children they should give the younger children more quality time :)).
